Legend (per Fort Hare Papers):

"In Manifestation of Duality we have the male and female principle present in every individual, but also in the cosmos and its forces, represented in this picture by the two figures. Each is symbolized as such by a celestial body - the male principle by the sun, the female principle by the moon. As can be seen each carries these within its body. They are joined by and through a leaf-shaped organ from which they seem to feed and acquire life. This is symbolic of awareness, on the individual as well as the cosmic level. It is only through awareness that the male and female principle is able to create or emanate life and sustain it. It reminds us not only of cosmic awareness but also of individual awareness between people."
